How does Canudo Works!

post a job

The Employer posts a job listing just as you would on any other job website, but with a few extra options!

Bid Type: You can decide how the Job Seeker compete for your job, whether it's bidding per hour, per job or simply leave the money talk for later!
Privacy: It's up to you whether you would like to make all offers public (recommended for one off jobs like webdesign, housework and handyman work) or make it visible to the Employer only.

find a job

The Job Seeker finds the job.

You can Browse for jobs or use our powerful Search tools.

submit application resume The Job Seeker will apply to the job by submitting their offer along with their resume, cover letter.

more job offers Another Job Seeker may then come match the offer, beat it with a lower expected pay or even leave a higher bid if they are confident in their abilities for the job.

job expired

This "bidding" process continues until the Listing Deadline.

The Employer may at any time choose a suitable applicant and close the bidding or extend the listing if that perfect Employee hasn't come forward yet!

evaluate job offers

The Employer will then evaluate all job offers and choose the winner based on both the job offer and the applicants qualities.

At the end of the day, the job offers (bids) should only account for one piece of the Employee puzzle. We recommend Job Seekers visit this website to see 100's of ways they can increase their chances of landing the job!

The Canudo Concept

A Losing Battle

The way people find jobs has been pretty much the same for hundreds of years. Find a job that you’re interested in, send in your resume and hope for the best.

Chances are, your application will likely be lost amongst all the other applicants competing for the same job, and your application will not even be looked at.

Now if you are fortunate and your application is among the few that the employer actually takes a look at, you may only lose anyway against another applicant who is more experienced or better qualified than you. And there is nothing you can do about it.

It’s time for a change!

Take the above scenario and replace the job with an “item” and the job seekers with the “market”. Now you have many people in the “market” demanding the same item, how do you decide who gets the item?

The solution is Auction! Without going into a lesson in economic theory, the way an Auction works is:

  • There are multiple bidders and each place a bid that reflects how much they WANT the item.
  • The highest bidder gets the item.

It’s simple, clever and it works!

Canudo attempts to apply the same principles to the Job Market. But instead of increasing your bids, you will be lowering them, much like how competing tradesmen will lower their quote when fighting for a contract. Here are some sample scenarios:

  • Jimbo just recently graduated from X, his got no experience, but he wants a job in the X industry. His willing to lower his expected pay for a chance to gain experience and do the job he wants.
  • Jimmy just lost his job, his got a mortgage to pay and a family to look after, his willing to lower his expected pay in order to find a job quickly, he’d rather some money now, rather than no money for months.
  • Jemma wants to do Job A which she finds more enjoyable and rewarding than Job B. Although Job A is higher paying than Job B, to increase her chances at Job A, she is willing to lower her pay so that she is working for the same pay as Job B, but doing something she find enjoyable.
